The truth, laid as it is, untainted by lies and corruption is still subject to debate. The way I see it the truth is like a piece of abstract art, or a poem, it is all a matter od perspective. The truth is a game of perspective.
You can show somebody the truth but there is no guarantee that they will see it for what it is. I read somewhere that people are willing to believe anything; if they want it to be true, or if they fear it is true. The truth is much like this. People will look at it, listen to it and proclaim that it isn’t the truth because they don’t want to believe it, or can’t see it.
Hearing the truth about your own flaws is much like this. When you confront someone and tell them what you think, as rational and logical as your argument may be they may not see your point at all. When certain events unfold people take from them what they will. They will see it as they want to.
This is why I see the truth to be like an abstract piece of art. A painting is a painting no matter who it is viewed by. The colors, the subject matter, the methods used in the painting are all the same. But when people see it they tie in their own thoughts, opinions and experiences into it. What I might see to be the true meaning of a painting may be totally different to what you see. Much like a poem, the same words, rhyming schemes and techniques that were used in the production of the poem are the same no matter who is reading it. But despite the words being the same, people take them to mean a million different things.
The truth is impossible to find when people still lie to themselves.
